The Steam Next Fest features demos for upcoming games. "Tiny Glade" offers a small but satisfying city-building experience, while "The Alters" surprises with its base-building and clone-driven narrative. "Level Zero: Extraction" presents an intriguing extraction shooter concept, but the demo suffers from technical issues. All three demos are worth trying out for a glimpse of their potential.

Gearbox made a good Borderlands game, but the franchise no longer wears the crown of best looter shooter.
