Hey everyone! It’s been a little while since I posted one of these updates. I figured today I would throw some updates at you!
So the new year is right around the corner. I’ve definitely felt like I’ve been riding a roller coaster throughout this year. I feel like I’ve ended up right where I started from last year. So I suppose I’m starting off fresh. Also experimenting with some new logos. So let me know if you see one you think is cool!
First off though, this year has surprisingly been the biggest year for the website. I had more views and people coming to the site than ever before. Which is strange, since I didn’t post nearly as much as my previous best year. The engagement was almost zero though, and I think that’s something I would really like to try and focus on. I would rather have good engagement than a ton of numbers. So I’m going to have to figure that out. I think posting more consistently is always a big thing, but so is just communicating with other websites as well. Less social media, more website cross overs.
Consistency in my writing is always going to be my biggest hurdle. I love to write, but I hate forcing it. When I feel the urge to write, I want to jump on it. However, it feels pretty far and in between lately. Gaming has also been hit or miss this year. I fell pretty heavily into the last season of Fortnite. It was just a really easy and simple game to jump into and play. Which is great, but I have such a huge backlog that I need to figure out how to tackle at my own pace.
So starting off for at least one post coming this month, I have a Gear of War Judgment review coming. I’ve been a huge fan of The Regulation Podcast (formerly F**k Face) and they have been talking about a play through of Gears 5. I realized I had never played through all of Judgment, so I decided to download it and get it going. So I finished that and will hopefully have that post up in the next day or two.
XBox also just provided gamers with their Year in Review as well, so I might do a quick fun post on that as well!
There’s always so much that I want to do, but finding the motivation to do it has been tricky for me. I believe I can get onto a good routine. It will take time, but I will figure it out!
I might also do some random Twitch streams in the future. I don’t know what that will actually be. I have the equipment set up for it, I just need to boot it up while I’m playing. If you want to possibly catch one of those streams, check out twitch.tv/slannxe.
We will see what comes into the new year. I have a plan on games right now, but we will see how far this really goes. More updates are always nice to put out there as well.
