Hello everyone and welcome to a new year for The Tired Obsidian!
It’s been a while. It usually is after a take a long break from posting content and what not. Just wanted to do a nice little weekend update of things I did this weekend. And then maybe get into more stuff after.

Biggest thing is I finished both Gears of War Reloaded (two weeks ago) and Gears of War 2 (last weekend). I’ve been wanting to get back through this whole series, as well as read the books in order. I will have a post later this week, maybe tomorrow, on my thoughts on Gears Reloaded and Gears 2.
I also started reading the second book in the series, Jacintos Remnants. Reading takes me longer to do than playing games, I’ll be honest. But you can look at what my thoughts were for the first Gears books, Aspho Fields here!
I finally decided to start playing through the campaign of Battlefield Hardline. It’s been sitting on my hard drive for so long, and I genuinely need to get it off. So it was either delete, or just crank through it.

I’m on episode 3 right now, and just saying, woof is it rough. Gameplay is fine. It’s nothing spectacular. But the whole off the books cops and stuff is such a hard things to play now that I’m older and I know how real life cops can be. So it’s hard to think it’s cool or fun. I know at least that majority of the time I’m taking down some bad dudes. But watching my partner just beat the shit out of someone… I dunno. And I know end of the story is going to be some dirty cop stuff. Like always. I’m gonna get through it and I might write on it if I feel like it. I would like to get through it though, just to see it through.
I’m not promising more posts for the site. I’m terrible when it comes to this stuff. I have hardcore creative blocks and just freeze when I have too many ideas in my brain. I’m not trying to be a content creator. Just continuing to have this outlet for myself is important for me. But I’m always open to play games with new people and chat and stuff. So if you read this, hit me up!
