Weekend Update // The Division 2, Books, and YouTube Videos

Hey everyone! Welcome back to another weekend post! I missed last week, but I really didn’t have many updates to tell. But this week I have some stuff I have been up to!

The Division 2

Oh man. I have been deep into The Division 2 again. It’s such a fun game to run around in still. And the new season pass mechanics are in effect, so kind of new stuff? I say kind of because I genuinely don’t know what’s going on in this world anymore. I know there was a big story update, but I couldn’t tell you what it was. I need to dive into that stuff again, but for now, I’ve been grinding away. I recently got caught up on all the Man Hunt stuff, so I next up is Week 13.

The manhunts are pretty boring, to say the least. The only reason to do them feels like to fill out your season pass stuff. I’m not sure what the end game is for it, but it’s a lot of doing the same stuff each week. It’s nothing special, but I just love the gameplay. It’s like how people feel about with Destiny. The gameplay is just too much fun.

I’ve never done the PvP stuff in D2. I’ve recently been watching a YouTube channel called RogueGold who seems to be someone a lot of people looks towards for news and stuff. His videos has him playing PvP, so it makes me think maybe I can get more out of the game if I jump into that stuff?

So my main stuff for the game is figuring out how to get my season pass experience up. And to also figure out the weapons crafting stuff. And equipment. I’m sure I have a ton of stuff I could do for optimization, but I seem to hold my own in a solo capacity.

Show Updates

I recently got to finish up The Challenge Season 40. They’re on to the Reunion stuff now, but overall I think it was a decent enough season. I don’t think it lived up to the hype for what they wanted. There was a lot of weird down time. Johhny Bananas just seems to get worse and worse each season he is on, and I’m genuinely kind of more interested in seeing newer players with less veteran players. Keep the strong players and stuff, but I wanna see a new season of Fresh Meat or something.

I also started watching The Rookie season 7. Two new episodes for me to watch and I had a decent time with them! It seems the start of most of these seasons starts off with some new Rookies joining the ranks, and their experiences for the first few shifts. It’s good, but almost feels like a bit of a rehash. They briefly touch on the escaped convicts from season 6, but not much more is said. So hopefully we get a really good season with that stuff coming up.

Book Updates

It’s been a second since I did a quick book update. I’m still reading the first Gears of War book. It’s taken me a lot longer than I thought it would, but my Kindle says I am at 86% now. So soon I will have a fun mini review for that. I also have Onyx Storm that comes out tomorrow! I ordered it physically through barnes and Noble, so I won’t have the actual book for a bit. But I did preorder it on Audible as well, so I plan on binging that as much as I can. Looking forward to it!

YouTube Update

I have started recording game play videos! And by me, I mean my kids have actually done it. There are currently two videos up on my personal YouTube channel which I will link below. They’ve played Minecraft and All Stars Brawl 2, so far, with Marvel Rivals in the pipe too. Follow it here!

I’ve also recorded some game play of The Division 2, but with no commentary. I don’t quite know what I want to do with it yet, whether I do a commentary track over rit, or use it as a background video for a future podcast. I’ll figure it out though! My stuff will be over on this channel here!

Check out those YouTube accounts! Especially my kids. They are very proud of what they’re doing right now and It’s been really fun seeing them find their voices together.

That’s all for this weekend. Hopefully, I can put some new updates up later this week!
