After a couple months of playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and putting in 80 hours, I finally finished everything aside from the releasing DLC. I am utterly spent on the open world action adventure games right now. Thank goodness for Resident Evil 2.

It has been a long while since we had a creepy, brain teasing horror game like RE2. It is the perfect change of pace after spending so long in a giant open world. This is also my first time experiencing RE2, so everything is brand new to me.

The spaces of the Raccoon City Police Department feel so cramped. The darkness all around you, feeling terrified if that zombie you just shot is going to get up again in 2 minutes.

I have only put in about 2 hours so far in RE2, but I feel almost rejuvenated to play games. AC Odyssey was starting to feel like such a chore to get to the ending of multiple storylines. This game is so much more straight forward. No more dialogue choices. Just a solid narrative in a terrifying world. Feeling absolutely vulnerable is a huge change for me, and I love it.

I can’t wait to spend more time in this game. I keep hearing some creepy stuff about a “Mr. X” and I could not be more terrified. Well done, Capcom.
