Mark Darrah, executive producer of Anthem, revealed a few days ago that there will be a number of changes between the demos that are releasing soon and the actual gold edition of the game. See tweet below:
Understandably a demo would be different from a final release, but with this game coming out here real soon, these issues are pretty big. No tutorials is going to be a huge pain for a lot of players. Balance being “super different” and the economy being “completely different” are pretty big issues. The demo does not seem like it will be very telling of what the final game will actually feel like.
This is definitely more of a beta, not a demo and probably should have been released much sooner. I would put money on them making this “demo” months ago and did not bother to make it new player friendly.
Anthem looks like a decent game overall, but just beware. If you’re jumping into this demo know that the game might be significantly better, or worse at launch.
Anthem releases on February 22nd for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
